Spring baseball season is almost here! Our Clayton Crush 10U team will start practicing in about two weeks and Little League will start shortly thereafter. Time to get excited about some baseball!
The Clayton Little Leaugue Cardinals finished off our fall season last night. We lost both of our games this week. Tuesday’s loss was an ugly 18-5 shelling! Last night we fought hard but fell short 6-5. It was a fun season and the team finished 5-4-2. Michael finished his season on a high note last night by going 2-2 with a single and a 2-Run Home Run! He blasted a line shot to right center field that ran to the fence. He made it safe at home but they opposing catcher made it interesting! Our Clayton 10U Select team plays Wendell on Sunday with our season-ending tournament next Saturday & Sunday.

The Clayton Cardinals lost 5-4 tonight to one of the Garner teams. It wasn’t pretty either! We had 5 unearned runs due to errors…… The team gets Saturday off – no practice. I think they need a break! Michael did not play – his foot still isn’t 100%. Hopefully he will play Sunday or Tuesday…..

Wow! Last night was the most exciting night of baseball I have ever seen! I’m excited to see the Rays made the playoffs! Michael has had lessons from Elliot Johnson who is on the Rays and will be working with Chris Archer during the offseason. Chris is in the Rays minor league system. Fun games!

Well the Clayton Cardinals were pressing and struggled early tonight. They scrapped and found a way to win 7-5. It was a good win for the team and everyone did their part in helping the team. Our next game is Thursday against Locked & Loaded – Garner. Go Cardinals!
