My co-worker Tom and I spent today working on a promo reel in a live venue. We wanted to hear our mix on a line array, so I assembled this mobile Pro Tools Rig. We routed 1080i 59.94 video to the LED wall and went to work.

I’m am excited to share another short film I worked on with my friend and mixing partner Frank Scheuring. Stucco is a super cool thriller film directed by Janina Gavankar and Russo Schelling and features sound design from David Farmer, Csaba Wagner.

I’m am excited to share an animated short film I worked on with my friend and mixing partner Frank Scheuring. I haven’t worked on many animated projects, and this film gave us some unique sound design challenges. Check out the official poster and a teaser below. Frank and I completed the final mix tonight.
Grateful to Jon Strong and the entire team at Strong Films for the privilege of working on Long Time Coming - A 1955 Baseball Story. The documentary was released on iTunes and Amazon Prime this week. The documentary showcases a unique view of race in America through the eyes of two baseball teams who simply wanted to play the game. The film premiered at The Florida Film Festival last year and was the first time that both teams saw the completed project. That week the players spent time at Lake Lorna Doone Park where the historic game was played Aug. 9, 1955.

Excited to see our hard work recogon Avid’s website. Our team has been busy outfitting new software and hardware across the campus. I can not wait to see what creative ideas come from these new spaces.

Last fall, we completed the installation of four cross-functional collaborative post-production rooms at Full Sail University. The new facilities provide filmmakers, picture editors, colorists, sound designers, and re-recording mixers opportunities to work together throughout the entire post-production process. Traditionally, post-production rooms are purpose-built and are often unitaskers. Our goal was to change this standard by leveraging the power of new technologies.
The facilities go live this year and will support multiple productions slated to begin January 7th.

This year, I overhauled six conference huddle rooms called Mission Control. In this overhaul, my focus was to add much-needed security, stability, and advanced features for content sharing and collaboration. The offices are located across the United States and feature a Cisco TelePresence amplified with two Mac mini computers which feed 80’ screens with multi-touch overlays. Each room can share screen content through secure screen sharing within a secure Cisco Meraki powered VPN network. All systems are cloud managed to allow full remote technical support.
In 2016, I was selected to co-lead a task force to design a leadership development program. The task force consisted of 10 exemplarily leaders from key departments at Full Sail University. A people-centric design approach was used to create this program. Months of internal and external research was conducted to find the best practice for leadership development. Our team also met with senior leadership to discover essential leadership capacities desired for future leaders within the organization. The program itself was built in-house with a total of seven build teams (Coaching, Communications, Curriculum, Data collection, Course Design, Development/Logistics, and Event Planning). Below is a brief description of the program and an overview of the course structure.
Flight School is Full Sail Leadership Academy’s third-tier leadership development program after Ground School and Navigator School. Its focus is to vertically-develop “ready-now” leaders who employ people-centric design to generate innovative solutions to organizational opportunities.
Program Length
Six Months (June 2017 to November 2017)
Program Design
Six (6) monthly all-day sessions (includes offsite events the same day) Intensive intersession work (4 to 5 x hours per week on average) Involves formative, meta, reflective, and experiential learning
Monthly coaching (project and individual)
People-centric design project (project included in intersession work) 8 small project teams of 3-4 Flight School Pilots each
In March of 2018, we celebrated the graduation of 19 Full Sail leaders who completed the Flight School program. The graduates were joined by members of our executive leadership who sponsored six real-world projects completed during the program.
This was my first time Supervising and Mixing a television series for Netflix. Our team was amazing, and we all pitched in to cover all sound editorial and mixing for the show. One of my favorite moments during the mix was when Rob covered Me and Julio Down By The School Yard by Paul Simon. There was a scene in episode 204 where Rob wanted to have the song playing during a scene with him and Danny Trejo. Rob contacted Paul's manager at 7pm, and by the next morning we had a music track created by John Hunter, one of the composers for the show. We tracked Rob singing and mixed the track shortly after. By 3pm the song was edited in the episode and ready for playback.
Working on this series was a fun and rewarding experience. I learned a lot about comedy, and how to focus more on the story than the sound. Check out season 2 on Netflix!
2 Years ago I was invited to design a movie theater for the Russel Home for Atypical Children. With the help of Full Sail University, Meyer Sound, Sony, Zio, and countless volunteers, we were able to build a 7.1 surround sound theater with HD projection.
In October 2013, we installed a Avid System 5 console in Full Sail University’s premiere Dubbing Stage. The video below features a time lapse of the installation.
